Pet Spaying & Neutering - Rabbits

Neutering a male rabbit can be done after 6 months of age. This procedure is commonly performed to decrease unwanted behaviors, such as aggression and mounting. It should be noted, however, that these behaviors may persist after the surgery. The procedure is much the same as it is for neutering a male dog. Sterile instruments, draping and surgical apparel are used.

Our fee for neutering a young, male rabbit, including daily patient care, preanesthetic blood and urine tests to assess organ system health, anesthesia, blood oxygen monitoring, and the procedure itself, is $195.31. Patients go home the same day. The fee for spaying a 4 to 6 month old female rabbit is $227.03. Again, the procedure is done using gas anesthesia and sterile technique. Patients go home the same day.
